Officially it is called the "bollenstreek".
This refers to the region of the bulbs (bollen).
Funnily enough the flowers to be seen on the fields now, do not have a (bol) bulb but a(knol)tuber. what do you think of Tuber-region?? I do prefer Flower region;-)
